Jabulani Ntshangase left South Africa in 1978 and in 1980 enrolled for a degree in Business Studies at the Baruch School in New York. To supplement his income he began working in the wine trade, developing Cape wine sales in the United States.

He has been an active member of the New York-based Wine and Food Connoisseur’s Club and also a member of the New Fairfield Wine Experience that meets several times a year to focus on food and wine pairings.

Jabulani is a founding director of Thabani Investment Holdings, a trustee of the South Africa Wine Industry Trust and active in furthering wine education of previously disadvantaged students, having pioneered the Wine Education Programme in 1995.
